Francis Quartey

Chief Operating Officer

Francis is a Chartered Insurer and an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana. Prior to joining Planwell, he was Head of Technical at Allianz Insurance where among other things he had oversight responsibility for Allianz’s underwriting business unit spanning broker, bancassurance, branches, agents, and international businesses, as well as the claims department. And among other things, he also ensured all branches complied with underwriting rules and guidelines.

Prior to joining Allianz Insurance Francis worked with Best Assurance Company as Underwriting Manager and with Star Assurance where he spent several years rising through the ranks. Francis is an experienced insurance practitioner who is well known in the insurance business community.

As head of our insurance brokerage business Francis’ core responsibilities include creating and protecting shareholder value, maximising growth and improving business performance. He also provides leadership and expertise in developing any specialist skills that Planwell may require for its operations. Francis qualified in 2016 as a Chartered Insurer (CII, UK) having previously received the Advanced Diploma in Insurance qualification from the Ghana Insurance College in 2009. He also holds a BSc degree (2012) and an MSc degree (2015) both in Statistics from the Regent University College of Science and Technology in Ghana.
